Bullying-Related Suicide

77% of students are bullied mentally, verbally, and physically. Of the 77% of students that said they had been bullied, 14% of those who were bullied said they experienced severe reactions to the abuse(Bullying). The term bullying is, an unwanted, physical,and verbal behavior among children in school, this behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time(What Is Bullying). In fact bullying is the number one problem in school,and it is most likely to have existed as long as school have(bullying). Bullying is one of the big problems that children as well as teenagers are facing at school that can cause kids to have a, loss of appetite depression, and suicide.

There is a strong link between bullying and suicide, as suggested by recent bullying-related suicides in the US and other countries. Parents, teachers, and students learn the dangers of bullying and help students who may be at risk of committing suicide. In recent years, a series of bullying-related suicides in the US and across the globe have drawn attention to the connection between bullying and suicide. Though too many adults still see bullying as “just part of being a kid” it is a serious problem that leads to many negative effects for victims, such as suicide. Many people may not realize that there is also a link between being a bully and committing suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among students.Approximately about 4,400 deaths per year due to students committing suicide. Surprisingly for every suicide among students , there are at least 100 suicide attempts occurring from students. The scary part is when a student is found attempting to commit suicide you're not aware of how many times the students have attempted committing suicide …show more content…
Small actions such as reporting to a teacher when witnessing bullying can determine the fate of a student's life, because if not reported instantly sooner or later dangerous things can happen to a student being bullied. The main thing that needs to be done is know and understand how big of a problem bullying is, don't think of it as something all students may have to go through during school. As for the victims being bullied know that staying quiet and trying to deal with it yourself is probably the worse idea you need to tell someone about the problems that are occurring. Theres many people you can report your problems to such as your parents, teacher, or even your guidance counselor. The faster you let someone know will be the faster they can get help for you to find a solution.
In conclusion remember bullying is wrong. It's never ok, It's never cool, It never makes you look good by doing it, you always have a choice. Be the person that is smart enough to notice how big of a problem bullying is becoming, and how much pain and embarrassment these students are going through from this experience.Also be more confident enough to be friends with everyone you meet. By doing so you're sending the message that you're self assured to care enough with what others may
