Bullying Monologue

I didn't always live in my current town that I do now, but I’m glad I do now. Before I had moved I used to go to a school where I was the only kid being bullied, by everyone. All of the bullies had targeted me as their victim. My parents tried talking to the principal and he just said “Kids will be kids, don’t worry about it”. He was right that kids would be kids. Constant laughter towards you as someone did something to embarrass and make fun of you. Asking them to stop with them to continue being worse kids. You proceeding to cry whilst the laughter continues. This paints a bad light unto kids but that's how they were. Rotten, spoiled brats who only have consideration for themselves and who ever makes them laugh. There was one time when

The principal told me to ignore it because the best way to get rid of bullies is to ignore them but I thought to myself, “How do you ignore being punched and pushed around. How do you pretend it doesn’t exist?” With tears in my eyes, feeling like the smallest and weakest human in the entire universe on the principal’s office chair I nodded and agreed to ignore it although I knew it wouldn’t stop anything. From a very bright, smart child I became lonely and very…

When I was younger, probably in elementary school, I was bullied all the time. People I knew would bully me, people I didn't know would bully me. They would ignore me and call me horrible names like ugly and stupid. I would just ignore them and walk away acting like I didn't care, but deep down inside I was crying a waterfall of tears. My mom never knew about it, not that she didn’t care or anything, but I didn’t tell her.…

As we become more knowledgeable on the subject of bullying, we can notice how the effects it has on both the victim and the bully can be dangerous. In his article, “Bullying”, John Greenya suggests that the connection between bullying and school violence has become a growing problem that schools aren't doing enough to prevent. He does this by first explaining that “today, bullying is widely regarded as a serious problem in the United States”, then by stating “bullying not only begets depression and suicide but also serious crime, researchers say, not to mention poor academic performance, truancy and higher dropout rates” (Greenya). Greenya finally describes how “in the past, bullying has simply been dismissed as ‘Kids will be kids,’ but the findings from this study suggest that…

The documentary, Bully, follows five children, from elementary school to high school, and offers an intimate viewpoint on the topic of bullying, and how it affects young children and their families. My overall reaction to this documentary was an initial feeling of sadness. Sadness for the children who have been affected by bullying in the documentary, and sadness for all of those who have been affected by bullying in their lives. This feeling soon turned into a concoction of disappointment, anger, and overall confusion. Disappointment and anger in the fact that children in today’s society feel the need to verbally and physically attack others, and disappointment in the way that bullying is handled by teachers, parents, and administration.…

I was never physically or verbally bullied as a child. I was shy and soft spoken; therefore, I never did anything to attract attention to myself. Instead of harassment, I had more difficulty dealing with isolation. Though this is not same type of bullying we had seen in the video, it did make me depressed and abandoned. I typically felt this while attending McKinley High School.…

Having dealt with being bullied from 1st grade to 12th grade, I have very strong opinions about how school system handle bullies and victims. My first day of practicum I had a student come into counselor office, she was scared that a girl told her that she wanted to fight her. The student wanted to transfer because she was scared that the student was going want to fight her and pick with her for the rest of the school year. The student stated that she wanted to be home schooled because she believes that everywhere she goes she will experience being bullied. I suggested to the student to talk to her teachers whenever the student started to make her uncomfortable, the student…
