Harmful Consequences Of Cyberbullying

People have disagreements on whether Cyberbullying is a small issue or is something we should take a better look at. This is one of the leading causes of teen death and should not be taken lightly. One negative message could have very dangerous consequences, not only for the bully, but for the victim. While it’s just kids messing around and it’s not a big deal, Students should think when they start to bully someone on the internet because it keeps children from getting an education, creates an unsafe environment emotionally and physically, and is hard for parents to try and intervene to help the victim of cyberbullying.
First of all, children are deprived of an education because of the things that come out of other children’s mouths. Some of the things that are so are so hurtful and cruel that a person wouldn’t want to face the bully again. This evens happens to adults in the work place. One example of this was Amanda Todd. A little over a month after she posted My Story: Struggling, bullying, suicide and self-harm, she committed suicide after skipping school and getting into drugs because of what people at school were saying about a picture of her. Do people really think they are going to get self-reassurance and feel good about themselves after they have just agitated a person who already may be dealing with something private? Is this okay? The answer is no, cyberbullying will never be a topic that should be taken lightly because it is very harmful. Ghandi once said,” Be the change you want to see in the world,” and that’s exactly what we need to do. Take charge and if a person needs help, help them! We all could use a little light in our life.
