Bullying has always been a major issue for students in school and although there are many prevention programs it still continues to be a problem. Bullying is broken up into three main categories. Verbal bullying is someone being attacked with words that are ugly and hurtful. Physical bullying is a person putting their hands, or feet, on another to purposely harm them. Cyberbullying, in recent years, is the most common type of bullying and is a single person or multiple people who attack someone with hurtful words or rumors. Bullying, the act of a blistering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates a smaller or weaker person, affects primary students with verbal bullying the most, middle school with physical bullying the most and high school students with cyber bullying the most, however this varies in different areas; although bullying is still a big issue it has decreased a large sum in recent years.
Victims of bullying often tend to be shy and tend to be physically weaker than their peers. They may also have low self-esteem and poor social skills, which makes it hard for them to stand up for themselves. Bullies consider these children safe targets because they usually don’t retaliate. If your child is the victim of bullying, he may suffer physically and emotionally, and his school work will likely show it.
