This type includes hitting, punching, kicking, tripping, or property damage. Physical bullying is most common during the middle school years (12-14), but it can also linger throughout the hears during high school and college. “Bullies may have any number of reasons for bullying others, such as wanting more control over others, and wanting to fit in” (bullyingstatistics.org). During the time of middle school, kids are trying to find what crowd they fit into, many of them become victims of peer pressure to bully someone who seems weaker than them. These victims may be socially marginal than the rest of their peers, due to factors including weight, ethnicity, and or other characteristics, such as physical or mental disabilities, that make them harder to fit in. Kids/adolescents who engage in bullying behavior are more likely to be involved in other risky behaviors in their adulthood. According to stop bullying.gov, these kids are more likely to “abuse alcohol and other drugs in adolescence, get into fights, vandalize property, drop out of school, have criminal convictions and be abusive toward their romantic partners, spouses, or children.” When a student does not come from a supportive family, the situation of the bullying may make a situation worse. Social abuse comes in many forms, and is often described as hurting someone’s reputation or relationships. Just like any other type of bullying, social abuse has a main “leader” that the group follows to degrade their victim. This type of bullying can be found in situations where a victim is left out on a group event on purpose, embarrassing someone in public, spreading rumors about someone or telling someone not to be friends with a certain race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. “Unfortunately, what the victims go through is more than what is registered on the facial expression. If this goes on for a considerable period of time, the mental makeup of the affected person is greatly altered. The perspective in which one views life changes to a negative one and the general attitude towards given matters is an awkward one”
