Bullying Informative Speech

For the topic of my Informative speech I decided to do it on Bullying. I feel that my open statement was clear and got the audiences attention. It was something that everyone knew about it and could relate too. However, once I got past the Attention grabber, I started to stutter, and my wording got a little messed up. I was thinking faster than I speaking. Although I did not say a clear preview statement in my head I did, so I have to learn to speaker slower, so I can process what I am saying. Before I presented my speech I had planned out everything clearly and organize; with the layout involving the use of my sources in my speech. However, when I started my speech, once again I got ahead of myself and completely forgot about using my sources. I feel like with my transitions I could have been a …show more content…
I feel like the organization of my speech was ok, it was how I performed the speech, was where I went wrong. My head was working faster than my mouth so I was getting ahead of myself, so I would get confused on where I left on, and leave a long awkward pause. I feel like my energy in my presentation could have been a little more upbeat, and I could have a little a more spring in my step. However, I think I did ok, with the amount of nerves I had giving this speech. One of the main things I noticed in my speech was my gestures, I was all of the places with my hands, feels and body. I was too busy crossing my legs, playing with the flashcards, fixing my hair versus focusing on giving my speech smoothly. I feel like my voice was a little shaking at parts, and there was a lot of unneeded verbal fillers and they were because of nerves. For this speech I did relied to much on notecards and that took away from my speech, because I was to worried about reading the notecards than just speaking smoothly. I knew the information, and I feel that the notecards just made my speech less

I have never had trouble talking in front of large groups or presenting, in fact speeches are always projects I look forward to in class. However, I still believe I could work on being more effective when delivering my speach. The two main problems I have seen wish my speaking is first, I always start talking too fast which makes it hard for the audience to understand me. Second, in school sometimes we are forced to give a presentation about a topic we are not always personally enthusiastic about. I need to improve my level of enthusiasm even when I am not interested in the topic because it effects the ability for me to convey my points to my…

However, in this speech I did a much better job talking with my hands than in any other of my speeches. WEAKNESSES Just like how I had plenty of strengths, there are definitely still things I need to work on. My speech would have gone so much better if I was better organized and practiced more. I kind of just threw some important information together without thinking about everything that should be included in the speech. The information I included was really good, however I just needed to add more and organize it better.…

Through your speech there are times that you start saying like in places that it doesn’t need to be. You also say a few ums and so. Also, make sure you don’t say things like,” so yeah,” and then move to a new topic. This abrupt ending of an idea can be hard on us as an audience and make the speech seem disconnected.…

In reflection to my second speech in public speaking, I believe it turned out better this time than the last. When I got up in front of the class, I was a little shaken up. I really believe this was because I was too organized. As I stood at the podium, I felt overwhelmed. I realized I over prepared and I did not know where to start.…

I tried not to rely on my note card as much during this speech and I could tell that I definitely feel more comfortable being able to rely on my notecard that not being able to. My organization was not the best compared to my persuasive speech because it is hard when you are talking about people and giving a story without having an outline to really follow. I did have a loud and clear speaking voice, but I was speaking in a rushed and quick…

A bully is someone who intimidates people they deem weaker than them using power or brute force. Bullying can lead to depression, low self-esteem, and self-harm. In recent television history, they have tried to input bullying in television shows to encourage teens and adults alike to come forth with these issues on being bullied and tell someone. Glee is a good example of individuals trying to come together and overcome bullying as a group with the help of their teacher Will. Bullying affects a lot of people and not just the victim, but the victim’s family and the bully as well.…

Up during my speech specificly the last one, i felt super nervous, but looking back i appeared confident and great body gestures. The one thing that doesn 't surprise me is that in all my speeches i managed to have a great tone of voice and enthusiasm. Personally my strongest performance had to be the persuasive speech, after looking at it i noticed i looked the most confident, my content, my structure, and my transitions were spot on. My weekest performance however was my first speech, i looked so nervous, i had very little content, i was not into the speech, no transitions, and like i said i learned a lot from this…

My speech went in the order it was supposed to. I started with my purpose statement, and continued on with my attention step, introduction to my topic, relation to the audience, ethos statement, and my thesis. This period was from the very beginning of my speech until about 1:00 in. I then followed with a transition into my first topic, followed by another transition, my second topic, and so on and while ending with my conclusion. Although I followed the criteria for the assignment, my organization was not the best.…

Final Persuasive Speech Reflection Believe me when I say that my progress from then to now has come a long way. Initially after giving the persuasive speech, I felt that there has been little process in all of this time that I had spent trying to learn to communicate more effectively. Worst of all perhaps, I felt powerless to do anything to change this. This was my most practiced speech and it did not feel that way. Even the thought of having to go back and essentially relive those 7 minutes was not something I was particularly excited about.…

You are in class one day when the teacher announces a new assignment: students are to research and give an informative speech about any topic of their choosing. As the student, imagine that you are terrified to not only present the speech in front of your entire class, but to have to go through the process of picking a topic, researching it, organizing your speech, and practicing it as well. At the beginning of my communication class, this was how I felt about producing and giving speeches. I was nervous to talk in front of the class because I have always been very shy and have suffered from extreme speech apprehension. I also dreaded picking a topic and organizing my speeches as well, since I could never make up my mind and I was never good…

Throughout the year, as a class we have been given many different challenges in either the form of an essay, speech, or group presentation. The final assignment given to us was a group project presentation. From growing up in an age filled with technology, I have come to love projects that revolve around making some form of a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint though, was both difficult and interesting for the reasons of being assigned group members not of my own choosing, learning to listen to others ideas which can help me to learn something new, and using former knowledge while working together to create a clean, in depth, and well prepared presentation. With working in groups of students whom I have known since I was young but…
