SPEECH TITLE: Bullying
SPECIFIC PURPOSE: To inform my audience about the types of bullying, explain how you can prevent bullying, and how bullying affects people.
THESIS/CENTRAL IDEA: Bullying has a negative outcome on teenagers because it causes stress, makes their self-confidence low, and causes more suicides
INTRODUCTION:
1. GET ATTENTION: Get Attention: Bullying is aggressive, unwanted behavior between mostly school aged children.
2. CLEARLY REVEAL THE TOPIC:
3. LISTENER RELEVANCE: Bullying can happen at any time or anyplace. If you do not want to be a victim of bullying this information can help you.

Point 1: There are many different types of bullying, but the two I’m going to inform you on are physical, and cyber.
A. Physical bullying is actually putting your hands on the person (hitting, pushing, slapping, etc.)
1. Victims of physical bullying are usually physically weaker than the bullies
2. Here’s an example of physical bullying; during lunch time a boy is making his way through the lunch line when a classmate approaches to ask him if they can cut in front of his place in the lunch line. The boy replies, “NO!” because he thinks that it isn’t fair to the people behind him. Annoyed, is classmate shoves him hard and takes his place in the line.
B. Cyber bullying is bullying using technology.
1. Victims of cyber bullying are most likely to use alcohol, skip school, and have low self-esteem.
2. Here’s an example of cyber bullying from Sameer Hiduja; “two female sixth graders, Katie and Sarah, are exchanging malicious instant messages back and forth because of a misunderstanding involving a boy named Jacob. The statements escalate in viciousness from trivial name-calling to very vicious and inflammatory statements, including death
