Personal Narrative: My Experience With Bullying In High School

Bullying has been an everlasting struggle in my life since elementary school. I could handle strange looks and sly remarks from a bunch of nine-year olds, but when I reached middle-school, the impact of other people’s words hit me in a new way. In 2011, I was an eleven year old girl at a brand new school; I was dating a twelve-year-old boy with a group of friends that called me ugly and gave me the nickname “beast.” The bullying of those three boys created a hole that ate up any self-confidence and happiness in my life. However, with the help of close friends and encouraging words, I decided to believe in myself and forget what they thought.

When I went to school that morning, all my friends were sitting in front the gym, except for my boyfriend, Brennan. Brennan and I met through my friend Caitlin five months prior, but we had only been dating for a month. We mostly talked on Skype; we didn 't have classes together because he was in a grade higher.

After ten minutes of watching people walk by, I saw Brennan across the quad with his friends Travis, Austin, and Cannon. Whenever he was with his friends, he didn 't talk to me

As I walked in English class, Mrs. Hebert, a short, nasal voiced, middle-aged woman, told us to keep our belongings in our backpacks because we were doing a project. She paired us in groups of four. My group consisted of Niffy Doung, Eeesly Voore, Emily Pickens, and myself. Niffy and I went in the hallway to staple the border on the poster and cut out decorations. Niffy was a tall, athletic, and attitude-filled girl. My shy, soft personality contradicted with her personality. We weren’t friends, but we didn 't hate one another. She stapled the border, and I cut out decorations. As we working on the project, a door clicked open down the hallway. Travis, Brennan 's best friend, walked out and I immediately tried to hide myself. My attempt to hide behind Niffy was insufficient and he spotted

Yet another ring awakened me as I realized I had invited company. “Here” the text read. My plans for the night hit me like a sledgehammer to a nail and I sprang from the couch to grab the door.…

Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock for the past thirty years (on that note, even ten years) acknowledges that the world has changed radically. From the rise and further advancement of computers, to the increasing prevalence of bioengineering, and even something as simple as how people discuss things all demonstrate that this is a radically different world from my parents, my grandparents and my great grandparents. With these innovations, problems both contemporary and archaic have reared their ugly heads; one of the greatest of these issues is bullying. This endearing issue, something in which we all have encountered by some means, and by some form, plays a massive role in our world today. Although it seems like this issue is something with no solution, many resources that have been acquired (from our innovations to the literature that has been created by great minds) prove that there are ideas about how to make this issue cease to exist.…

After reading Jeannette Walls’ Glass Castle, I realize that she and I have a lot in common. From her parents arguing to her being bullied at school to her father dying, she went through a lot of situations that resemble some of the less known and serious problems that I had while I was about the same age. Jeannette had a tough life while growing up. However, even though I had similar issues, I lived and still live a relatively sheltered life. I, like her, simply viewed everything that happened as normal and didn’t realize that it was abnormal until I got into fifth or sixth grade.…

It was the first day of 8th grade at Nagel Middle School, I was alone and friendless on team 8-1, most of my friends from last year were on different teams. So during lunch I ended up sitting with Jenna Walsh a girl I knew from book club last year, her twin Alex and another girl I had gym with the previous year, Samantha Beinke. Although it was quite sunny outside, the temperature in the cafeteria felt like it was below freezing point. I turned towards Jenna about to voice my opinion on how the school should not have the fans on when the AC was also on, when I noticed 2 girls headed toward our table.…

“You won’t amount to anything…you’re too small…you can compete with us”. For my whole life I have been hearing those words from my peers to adults, coaches and the list goes on. During my school career it was a breeze until I got to middle school. Once I hit the sixth grade the name calling and constant judging from the seventh and eighth graders started. However, what really struck me with disbelief was how my “friends” started to treat me, as if joining in on the banter was “cool” and did it to fit in with the older/cooler kids.…

C1. In this case, though no particular motives are given for the anonymous students to be bullying Larry, there are a few possible reasons why they could be doing so. The students perhaps have a grudge against Larry or dislike him and want to insult him for whatever reason by leaving his email and posting false statements and even cartoons about him (though I think insulting someone with the name of a group of people who have a different sexual orientation isn't very clever). Now as for forwarding the email with the link to the site to other friends, perhaps I wanted to hear their opinions on the site and (hopefully not, as it would make me a terrible person) try to get my friends in trouble (on second thought, no real friend would do that!).…
