Bullying alone is a root for many other problems including low self-esteem, violence, and in extreme cases, suicide. But if one were to dive in a little deeper, they would discover that it does not begin with bullying, that bullying stems off from another problem. This problem being that when bullying is witnessed, it comes off too transparently. An even deeper, and more direct root to this issue is that when someone believes that if the one he/she is evaluating isn’t within the same click, or a part of a common agreement, then they are below society as a whole, which again creates a society vs. one situation. Self-harm, drugs, alcohol, and even suicide are effects of extreme condescendence. “Even something as minor as, say, using a belittling tone towards another, can make that person’s emotions go downhill” Said Jacob Karter, a seemingly dedicated employee of the YMCA (Karter). Condescendence can ruin the workplace vibe, as well, and “when we speak to others, we put ourselves in their shoes before we respond. This effectively eliminates any rude or condescending tones” (Karter). And for the victims of these seemingly “minor” quarrels, emotions can be unpredictable. They can form self-pity of themselves, or revolt with hatred towards the
