On March 21st My organization Sisterhood of Success and I facilitated and instructed a Bullying workshop called Wrinkly Wanda. There were 20 students, males and females that were from the ages 8-12 that participated in the workshop. The aimed of the workshop was to teach the students the signs of bullying and explain to the students that words may have a negative impact on the people’s lives, so be aware of what they say.
Activity Instruction:
On chart paper, have the participants trace an outline of a full body person (Wrinkly Wanda). Once the outline has been traced, the participants will write negative words or statements all inside outline. These are statements that could be made to another person like, “You’re a loser, Nobody likes you, You are dumb.” Identify the drawing as a girl named Wanda. After Wanda is completely filled with a variety of negative comments, have the participants crumple the drawing, and then un-crumple it. Post the wrinkled drawings around the room. Explain to the class that these drawings are examples of what negative comments can do to a person who is bullied. Bullying

Emily Bazelon discussed the national topic of bullying in her lecture, “Sticks and Stones” Defeating the Culture of Bullying”. Bazelon starts by defining bullying as a commonly misunderstood concept. She argues that not all conflicts between children are considered bullying. Bullying, Bazelon believes, should be a narrow term, which excludes drama or regular two-seeded conflict; consequently, she regards bullying as repetitive behavior that is a “campaign to make someone miserable”. In other words, bullying is not a fight; it is one-sided.…

I will explain that there is blank space under each square, where students can brainstorm before they write their final dialogue in the text circles. On the board I will write the five things to include in their comic strips and what I will assess them on: 1) Clues 2) Schema 3) Sequence 4) Problem 5) Solution. Remind students that the text circles are small and they need to get all their ideas in a short amount of words. After students have completed their comic strip, come show them to me and I will hand out a piece of colored construction paper, and they will cut out their comic and glue it on the paper. When they have completed that, they will write their names and turn it into me.…

The topic I chose to write about is the animation One Piece by Eiichiro Oda the animation demonstrates social psychology in an interesting way. One peace is about a group of pirates led by a young man that received power from the Gum Gum fruit (a fruit the allows the person that eats it to have a rubbery and stretchy bod, but also takes away the ability to swim). The young man's name is Luffy and he is the opposite of social psychology. He does not demonstrate the bystander effect at all Luffy is the first to react in a situation whether he knows the individual or not. In the animation this inspires the viewer and is the main hook for the series.…

Bullying: Why It Happens The documentary Bully, directed by Lee Hirsch argues that bullying is an on-growing social problem occurring in America that is not receiving the acknowledgment it deserves. The film shows how oblivious adults ignore the issue and classify it as a normality, while also showing a clear insight to the mental and physical abuse kids face everyday. Hirsch supports his argument with his successful use of ethos, logos and pathos by weaving together the stories of five different families who have first hand experience with bullying, making them reliable sources. The directors purpose is to inform the audience on bullying and to create a new realization of this ongoing issue, so kids can rise above and empower one another…

Lacy Elementary School is in the process of implementing Positive Behavior Support Systems, but has seen a large influx of bullying in the cafeteria during lunch hours. Bullying involves any type of psychological or physical abuse and includes such behaviors as teasing or taunting (Whitted & Duper, 2005). Bullying can also be defined as the use of hostile actions that is meant to be disparaging to the individual (Long & Alexander, 2010). While studying the definitions of bullying and reading observations of Lacy Elementary School, bullying became prevalent during lunch hours, which involves large numbers of students gathering in a common area. The implementation of an intervention team, as well as creation of an action plan will combat the issue of bullying in the cafeteria.…

Some would say bullying is a negative topic that can be hard to stop. Bullying can be defined as “Repeated aggressive behaviours that are intended to cause harm to a victim with relatively less power to defend themselves” (Faucher et al. 112). It presents itself as an issue from an early age(such as Kindergarten or Pre-Kindergarten) all the way up to bullying even in the workplace (such as hazing or even cyberbullying). It is a problem that only worsens as the ages climb and can become even suicidal if it gets too severe.…
