Bullying in the workplace has many forms. Looking into the definition of bullying in the workplace one can see many types. Considering these types of bullying one can see many differences and many similarities. There are many options on how to handle bullying. Viewing many different ways to handle each type of bullying you can see how to stop this from happening in the workplace. There are many resources to help stop bullying in the workplace. Let us begin with some definitions.
What is bullying in the workplace? Workplace bullying is repeated, unreasonable actions of individuals (or group) directed towards an employee (or group of employees), which are to intimidate, degrade, humiliate or undermine, or which create a risk to the health or safety of the employee(s) (SHARP, 2016). Bullying in the end is a way for someone to get another person to do what they want them to do. It is amazing how many people bully others and how early they start. What is even more amazing is how each person reacts to these bullies in their life. Some may think that the bullying is aggression. This is not always the case, the difference between the two is that aggression happens once, while bullying is a repeat action. Some may also think that bullying is harassment. Harassment is actually illegal discrimination and is defined as offensive and unwelcome. While the two may seem like they are the same harassment is not about control to get what you want like bullying.…
