Kinsey-Definitions Many people mistake bullying and harassment as the same thing, but the consequences are different. Bullying is the imbalance of power and the act of degrading someone else. It is usually physical and done by someone the victim may know. A bully’s intent is to pick on a person who will not fight back. Bullying is based off of jealousy, which is why bullies want the victim to be portrayed in a negative way. There is just not one form of bullying there are several types of bullying in this world. The most common types of bullying are physical bullying, verbal bullying, and cyberbullying.
Physical bullying, or also known as face-to-face bullying, is one of the oldest forms of bullying. This type of bullying is one of the most obvious and easiest types of bullying to identify. Physical bullying includes all of the following: kicking, hitting, spitting, punching, slapping, shoving, and other physical acts. This type of bullying not only leaves horrifying memories, it also sometimes leaves the victim with bruises, cuts, and even to some extreme measures the victim is left with broken bones, or other extreme injuries. For example: Amy Joyner, a student at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, was beaten to death by her peers. The disagreement was over a boy and what was once a one-on-one fight was now a three against one fight. Amy Joyner was then beaten to death and there have yet to be any charges towards the three girls who had beaten Amy to death.…
