This campaign helps students become aware of what constitutes bullying as well as where and when it might be happening. It helps them discover where to turn to for help when experiencing or knowing about acts of bullying, as well as increases student and community engagement in this significant issue. Bullying Awareness week aims to help students succeed, a healthy school environment assists to support with student success. These teams take on leadership roles in schools that involve planning activities relevant to bullying awareness and prevention as well as get the whole school community engaged. Some past ideas for school-wide activities include, organizing campaigns such as pink t-shirt day to promote tolerance and inclusiveness to end bullying, organizing assemblies that feature presentations about the impacts of bullying and creating a poster making campaign based on the theme of bullying, to be presented at the assembly. Parents and teachers who hear about what their child/students experiences in terms of bullying is enough to get them involved with the Safe School Team. It is difficult for parents to see their children struggle with the effects of bullying which forces them to take a stand to help prevent it from happening at their child’s school
