If you saw bullying, what do you think you would do? Would you just stand by and let it happen, take part in it, or maybe try and stop it? A lot of people will just stand by and let it happen because they don 't want to be the next target for the bully. Bullying in schools is believed to be a normal part of school life, however, when people begin to think this way, they forget bullying is physically and emotionally harmful to both the bully and the victim. The problem is people choose to ignore bullying and therefore it is allowed to happen. Children that are victimized by bullies are often too scared to say anything. That is because people stand by and let it happen without realizing how much pain that it is causing for the victim to face daily.
The first known death caused by bullying was October 4, 1862. A 12 year old died from bullying behavior at Kings school in Canterbury, United Kingdom. According to a study by Yale University bully victims are seven to nine percent more likely to consider suicide for an escape out of life due to the bullying. Bullying has become so serious over the years that is has caused a lot of peoples death. In January 2006, the U.S. congress passed a law making it a federal crime to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass another person over the internet and also face to face. People find it very easy to bully people over the internet with the access to social media. The bullies can hide behind another identity or just behind their computer.…
