What does bullying lead to?
Research suggest that bullying is a major issue in the U.S. because it leads to anxiety, depression and suicide. The definition of bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior; observed or perceived power imbalance; and repetition of behaviors or high likelihood of repetition (Facts About Bullying, n.d.). There are four types of bullying and they are cyberbullying, verbal bullying, physical bullying and social bullying. Over the years bullying has become a rapidly growing problem in the United States, mostly in adolescents.

Overall, they found that victims of bullying were more likely to think or attempt suicide than those who have never been bullied. In 2017, 10-year-old Ashawnty Davis hung herself in her closet after a video of her fighting her bully was put onto a social media app named musical.ly. According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying (Bullying and Suicide, 2017).
