Bullying Report Bullying has been a problem for a very long time; however in these present times bullying is becoming an epidemic. Maybe the reason behind this is the new occurrence of social media in our society, and the new strategies used by bullies to harass there victims. In this report the topics that will be covered are why bullying is an issue to study in human development, describe three components or types of behavior in bullying that are observed by researchers. Explain how gender and sexual orientation that influence the styles of bullying, how bullying affects self-esteem and what affect does the family system have on bullying.

Many children believe if they are in the crowd that supports and ridicule the other children that are being picked on, this alleviates they from the pecking order. What are the types of bullying behavior, as observed by researchers? Once it is broken down, there are three categories of bullying. The first being verbal which is in relation with written. In this first category one can be teased for any reason that may make them stand out from the cool kids. It could be something as small as a mole on the face or something as major as a physical disability. Many kids name call, and that could be as severer as racial slurs, and the starting age is none existent for this. Inappropriate sexual comments that have no respect for gender or preference everyone can experience this. Taunting occurs, usually in these situations the victim is outnumbered by their aggressors. Shortly after, threats of bodily harm are made towards the victim. “Social bullying, sometimes referred to as relational bullying, involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships.” (Department of health, 2011) A few examples of this are
