Bullying is kept mostly under control in American schools by organizations that work to stop it completely. Bullying is when someone treats another person poorly in order to hurt them or get them to do something. There are many different forms of bullying, such as physical, verbal, digital, and cyber; it can happen anywhere. Although unfortunate, there are so many bullies in our world today and one can never live a life without knowing, being, or being the victim of one. Bullying can happen on the web, in all schools, at the workplace, and even in public areas between complete strangers. A very common and harmful form of bullying would be physical. Emotional abuse is one of the leading causes of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and social disorders. Verbal bullying is when a bully picks on or puts down someone else either in writing or in person. Often, the harm done to a person from this can carry on with them for many years afterwards. Since the internet has evolved, a digital type of bullying has been on the rise. Dubbed “cyberbullying,” this type of emotional harassment seems to be easier for bullies to do. They can do it anonymously or with fake names, which makes them believe their identity cannot be found and they can freely carry on with their bullying. One of the reasons that cyberbullying is so harmful is because, in today’s society, it follows a person everywhere, from their cell phone all day to their laptop and social media. There are “bullies of all ages, races, and genders,” (http://www.bullyingstatistics.org/) which means that anyone on this planet can be exposed to bullying. Many of even Shakespeare’s plays had involved some type of bullying, (http://thebardolator.com/2013/11/21/bullying-in-shakespeare/) which shows how far back it was around. Because it affects so many people every day in our society and even more so than it did thirty years ago, there are many groups and organizations that are focused on aiding those who are hurt by bullies. Antibullying.org is a website that introduces the online world to what anti bullying programs are. There are programs from NOH8, (http://www.noh8campaign.com/) an anti gay bullying movement that helps spread the word of how the LGBT community is affected by bullying and promotes making peace and accepting the differences in
