Many people across the U.S., let alone the world, are victims of bullies. Victims of people telling them what their worth is, how unattractive they say they are, and belittling them to the point where they are just a shell of a human because they start to believe it. If I were Tiffany, I would not forgive Skoquist.
Tiffany was horribly bullied in the fourth grade. Yes, the fourth grade. She was tormented everyday by children whether it was physical or verbal. They typically told her and said that she was, “fat and ugly and she stinks” (Skoquist 5). She was also kicked, punched, and pushed around. Society doesn’t tend to realize that bullies aren’t just the mean girls or jocks in high school. It can happen anywhere, anytime. Even if you’re in fourth grade, or even at your office job, bullies can come from anywhere and do anything they can to belittle a person. What’s important to see here though is that she was in fourth grade. My little cousin was in grade school when it happened. She wasn’t like the other girls in her class. She wore classes, wore her hair in braids every day instead of a ponytail or just leaving it down, and she wasn’t much of a girly girl yet was also not much of a tomboy. She loved to read and when you’re in the fifth grade, that’s not really a common thing that children like to do. Because of her not being afraid to show her interests and uniqueness, she was bullied. She was by the same boy and it would occur every day. It happed so much that she had to switch school. I just don’t understand how someone could be that cruel and it breaks my heart. But, at her new school she made lots of friends and really enjoyed herself
