These two restrictions are linked because they both block someone from doing something that they have dreamt about, in China you can only have one kid when the reality is the majority of families wish that they can have more and in Nina’s family, the female is prone to marry someone she doesn't love whatsoever and she has no say at all even if she has feeling for another man, both of these regulations interrupt with someone's desires or wants. Second of all, both stories problems are started by someone, for Nina, it's somewhat her parents and mostly the sassy rich girls that gossiped about it to her parents, for Nadira, it's her dad due to the fact that he illegally entered his family into America and did not verify his visa. Third and last of all, both protagonists have a sidekick or helping hand, guiding them through their problem, for Nina, it's Karim, he has motivated her to forget about the bullies and their parents and to follow what she feels is right, additionally he has promised that he will forever stand up for and protect her no matter the
