Bullied Victim Analysis

In today's society people often categorize characters into stereotypes, media often portrays bullied victims as weak and vulnerable people who not only are introverts but are also not self-assured. In other words, media defines roles as to who people are and how they should be. In the movie "Wreck-It-Ralph", these stereotypes have been disapproved. These conventions are challenged throughout the movie, specifically once Vanellope regains her power at Candy Rush. Vanellope Von Schweetz contradicts the stereotype of a typical bullied victim because she is determined, confident, loving, forgiving, and humorous/ sarcastic.
Vanellope is determined to compete and win the race even though many people have told her she cannot do it. She has been bullied most of her life and feels like an outcast, who can't leave the game. Vanellope Von Schweetz is dedicated to participating in the racing event, "I told you, racing's in my code!"(gointothestory). After many years of torment and suffering, the young girl gets an opportunity to race and live her dream of becoming a racer. She will take full advantage of Ralph's support and will not back down. After winning the race, Vanellope shows the audience her true identity in Candy Rush. After becoming a princess, she played a small joke by saying "as you merciful princess, I decree that everyone who was ever mean to be shall be… executed"( gointothestory). All she wants is a good laugh, showing her bubbly personality. Vanellope is a very sarcastic and outgoing girl; she finds pleasure in the simplest things. Vanellope is light hearted even though she has been criticized by the other gamers; she found a simpler way to look at life.
