Is it true bulletproof clothing can help save a life from any kind of weapon attack? Bulletproof clothing can not save you from any kind of weapon attack. But as the materials in the armor improve the likely it will be that the armor will be able to protect someone enough to keep them from being fatally wounded(Ollhoff). As the armor becomes more protective it is also starting to become more discrete. The armor ranges from vests to tuxedos and blankets(Forero). The materials in the armor range from kevlar to the new biosteel. As the old material, kevlar, starts to become outdated, new material like spider silk, liquid armor, and biosteel are starting to become more popular in major bulletproof clothes makers. Ballistics armor protects against handguns and other small firearms. Stab resistant armor protects against knives and other weapons like knives. Combination armor is a vest that protects against both firearms and knives. Combination armor is more popularly used in the United Kingdom(“Body”). Other types of armor being made are blankets, tuxedos, t-shirts, and backpacks(Forero). If a police officer was on duty it would be more practical for the officer to use combination armor in case the suspect has a firearm or a …show more content…
One day the armor might be able to withstand an attack from a higher power weapon but now the armor cannot withstand any weapons attack and keep the person wearing the vest alive. The armor’s starting to become stronger with spider silk and biosteel is also starting to become more discrete with tuxedos, backpacks, and t-shirts but none of those are strong enough to protect from any weapons attack. Scientists are expected one day to find a bulletproof clothing material that could not be shot through by any weapon and still keep the person wearing the vest alive. If there would simply be less mass shootings then America wouldn’t need to keep improving new body armor.
