Bull used to think that his pop was important because of the name he had but as time went on he learned the truth about his pop. Bull learned that his pop’s fists were the only thing important about him. This implies that Bull has been beaten since he was a child and that if he told his pop that it hurt he would just punch him harder. This could explain why Bull beats up on Victor at school, it could be the only relationship that Bull knows, so it is the only one that he creates.

My brother is in and out of prison too, I don’t really have a relationship to him because my parents have sheltered me from him though. He is in prison again and my mom wanted me to try to write a letter to him but I wasn’t even sure what to say because I haven’t seen him in about five years. It is because of my brother that my parents are so strict with my sister and me. It is because of my brother that I feel like I can’t mess up or I will not be able to see my family again.

Eww, that is so gross that they have bugs like roaches join them every night! I remember when my brother was in a group home to become sober and he said that it was his turn to cook dinner and there was a family of roaches on a pan that he was going to use to cook.
On page 8 Bull recalls a time when his mom made him eat a rat turd that was on his dread.
This reminds me of the book “The Child Called It”, when the mom shoved her child’s face in a poopy diaper.
On page 8 Bull tells the reader that his mom is constantly telling him he wasn't even supposed to be born. She tells him that he ruined her big dream of bring a yoga
