Timing
The treatment plan will include a total of 40 sessions. The counselor will see the client 5 days a week for an hour. Thus, the total commitment to treatment is 8 weeks. This time will allow the client to adapt to change and lower the risk of relapse (Murphy et al., 2010)
Medication
Antidepressant medications have shown positive outcomes in the treatment of bulimia nervosa. The recommendation is a 60mg dose of fluoxetine daily to reduce depression and bulimic symptoms (Murphy et al., 2010)
