Whether you want to build up muscle, lose weight or do both, there is a good chance you are going to run into the conditions bulking up and reducing in your search for determining how to reach those goals best.
I'm sure a lot of you have previously done several "bulk and cut" cycles over time, and much more are probably considering carrying it out for the very first time. How nice.
The plain thing is, how successful these bulking and reducing cycles have been for you before and exactly how successful they'll be for you in the foreseeable future will depend on a couple of factors, the main of which that are understanding what these conditions DO, nor mean and making use of them accordingly.

- The Trim: A time frame when the principal goal is losing weight, slimming down, getting leaner, or all the above. Calorie consumption is reduced and/or calorie costs is increased, so a caloric deficit exists.
The final frequent about the scenarios these expressed words entail is that they are typically done in alternating cycles. You know... mass for X timeframe, then minimize for Y timeframe (or vice-versa depending on your original goal).
This is one way many folks have gone about hoping to attain their fat reduction and muscle mass building goals for many years and can likely still do it decades from now.
