Throughout the years of the series showing, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was highly respected and hailed by critics to be one of the most well-written television series ever. Its smart and witty dialogue was its reason to be so looked upon. It was even ranked to be one of the top fifty television shows of all time by TV Guide. The television series is about a teenaged girl named Buffy, who is the “chosen one” to fight the enemies which include demons, vampires, and creatures. The enemies which whom she fights are supposed to represent our own demons and struggles we face in our daily life. The show is meant to be very relatable to the teenage life reality. Willow joins a Wicca group hoping to find witches like her who are serious about casting spells and such. The girls talk about everything but what the group is supposed to be about, which makes her very disappointed and feels as if she does not have anyone in common with what she likes to do. Although, she feels that she does not relate to any of the girls she does notice one of the girls named Tara. Tara was trying to give an idea and kept raising her hand during the meeting Willow calls on her but then Tara suddenly decides not to give her opinion. Willow later on expresses her thoughts to Buffy and says, “No, bunch of wanna blessed-bees, nowadays every girl with a henna tattoo and a spice rack thinks she’s a sister to the dark.” This quote shows her anger towards her situation of only coming across fake witches. Furthermore, into the episode Tara goes out and while she is walking the Gentlemen notice her. She tries to escape and knocks on every dorm door trying to find safety. Willow happens to come out of her dorm and Tara bumps into her causing them to fall on the floor. Willow then realizes what is going on so Tara and her quickly run to the nearest room and lock themselves. Willow tries to use her powers to move the soda machine to block the door revealing her secret and Tara realizez she is not the only one with powers. They cannot seem to express how they feel because their bickering gets in the way of their true feelings. Anya feels that Xander does not care about her and is using her for the wrong reasons but, Xander claims that does care. However, when Anya asks what she means to him he says, “Well, I... we, you know, we spend… we’ll talk about it later.” He pushes their situation and feelings to the side because he is not able to express what he wants to with words. Furthermore, into the episode Spike gets his cup of blood and happens to sit next to Anya who is sleeping. Xander walks in and Spike looks at him with blood on his lips, which causes Xander to assume that Spike bit Anya while she was asleep. He attacks Spike to the ground, giving him blows to the face. Anya wakes up bewildered about the insanity that is happening in front of her and Xander immediately hugs Anya knowing she is not hurt. Therefore, through silence he is able to show how he truly does care for her and would not want to lose
