Buffer being a chemical substance or system that minimizes changes in pH by releasing or binding hydrogen ions (Marieb, 2016). Knowing that our cells are sensitive to the little changes in the pH. For this reason, buffers play an important role in keeping the homeostasis in the blood. Even though our body has and uses numerous mechanisms to maintain homeostasis in the blood but one of the most important mechanism are buffers because buffers that are dissolved in the regulate the pH of the blood and also keep it constant. When pH rises buffers releases hydrogen ions to resist the rise and buffers also releases binding hydrogen ions when the pH drops.
