Budgeting Assignment Analysis

Challenges The entire class was not simple and did not come without challenges some weeks. One of the biggest challenges that I had was with the budgeting assignment. I did not realize how many different parts there are for a budget for an organization. The simple line item budget, we did does not even include all that would be involved in producing a full budget for the organization. The financial part of an organization has more parts than just the cost of supplies and wages paid to the employees. The financial management process actually includes three different parts which include resource acquisition, resource disposition, and resource reporting (Lewis, Packard, & Lewis, 2012). There is not a simple budget that shows all of the …show more content…
After completing both of those items I have a much better understanding of how an organization has to have a solid management structure. Having poor organization design and structure can lead to contradictions and confusion. Some of the issues that can arise with poor organization design and structure are confused within roles, a lack of co-ordination among functions, failure to share ideas, and slow decision-making which can bring mangers unnecessary stress and conflict (Corkindale, 2011). The concept of organization design a structure I understood, but when it came to putting it all together with our human service organization, that is when I realized there was a lot more to it. These were only a few of the challenges I faced, but was able to overcome with just a little more review. The concept of designing my own human service program is what I will discuss …show more content…
Looking at how many different human service program there are out there it was a little overwhelming to think that I had to set up a program that was going to look like one of them. My thought was originally I was going to design a program that would be a general human service program that would be available to anyone that needed it. After looking at how big of a program that would be, I decided to scale it back some and focus on a program that I feel strongly about. Having dealt with foster care and the department of human services when I was growing up and with my stepdaughter, my heart went back to a program that would help children and families. The part that surprised me the most is that there are so many steps to set up a successful adoption and consultation agency. I learned so much just through the interviews in the first three weeks of the course about how there are different agency that do different things when it comes to adoption. Looking back now I did not know that there were agencies out there that are only there for the parents throughout the adoption process and do not work with placing the

“In a fundamental sense, the federal government is what it spends. Through the budget, the government assists millions of families in meeting basic expenses and provides a financial safety net for the sick, elderly, and other dependent persons” (Professor Allen Schick, “The Federal Budget: Politics, Policy, Processes,” 2007) The Federal Budget of the United States is decided upon by both the President and Congress through a discussion process that often leaves the two parties split on controversial issues. The two often argue on how this money will be dispersed between the several budget categories that our government must attend to. This amount of money is no small amount.…

The Preamble and the Federal Budget: Are We Slicing the Pie Correctly? The federal budget is the yearly plan for how the US government will spend the money it takes from taxes. The president proposes a budget each year and leaders of the other parties in congress may also propose a budget. These numbers are large and sometimes difficult to grasp, but the preamble gives us ways to think about them and to judge how our budget is spent. In each of the following Three Budget Clusters, the United States government should make adjustments in the way it is distrusting money by changes involving The Big Five, changes involving The Middle Five, and changes involving The Little Guys.…

First, a summarization of the argument on whether the NEA is needed or not should be discussed. The case against the NEA does not entail a story of how it will save the government a large amount of money. The NEA’s annual budget is about $150 million. The budget weathered significantly after the recession budget cuts. Their funding dropped 14 percent lower between 2010 and 2015.…

Craig, there is so much information to cover in the Organizational Timeline. I found it interesting Mary Follett was an American social worker and President Theodore Roosevelt had her as his “personal consultant on managing not-for-profit, non-governmental, and voluntary organizations” (Boundless, Behaviorism: Follett, Munsterberg, and Mayo, n.d.). She believed that managers should empower employees instead of telling them what to do. In my place of work, we all have our responsibilities and know what it takes to get the job done. We are currently undergoing a new system and all are being trained.…

The United States federal budget was formulated and created by the Congress and President of the United States based on the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921, and the Congressional Budget and the Impoundment Control Act, 1974. The federal budget process of the United States begins with the submission of a budget request by the President to the Congress. This submitted request is then referred to the Senate and the House Budget Committees, and the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). These budget committees review the submitted request under the light of the CBO and suggest a budget resolution with possible amendments. This budget resolution is not a law but a prototype for the authorization and appropriation process.…

Based off of the Preamble of the Constitution, the United States has some morals, ethics, and values that were stated but aren’t necessarily being followed. The Constitution is partially responsible for the way the United States is today and how far we’ve come as a nation because it is a list of goals that the government should follow. One way to investigate whether or not the government is following those goals is to look at the Federal Budget and how the government chooses to spend money. It has become apparent that in each of the three budget clusters, the U.S. government should make some vital adjustments in the way it is distributing money in the Big Five, the Middle Five, and the Little Guys with paying off debts, helping with education…

For this project, I chose to be a computer systems analyst for my career because it is the one I am pursuing. On average, computer systems analysts earn $80,000 a year, but at an entry level, they earn about $60,000 a year. There was small concern that this would make my budgeting plan more difficult. It was actually challenging having to make food plan since I never needed to plan out or buy a variety of meals for a month. If I knew how to cook several meals with certain ingredients, I would have had an easier time to brainstorm my meals.…

Organizational structure refers to the way of arranging people and assigning responsibilities to perform work and meet goals in an organization, it is particularly important for the large organization, where decisions need to be made in many tasks, unlike in the case of a small organization that day-to-day communication is frequent and formal structure is unnecessary (Distelzweig, n.d.). In order to explain the concept of a good organizational structure, two organizations are chosen for comparison and analysis, which are the Apple and Microsoft company. Firstly, for the Apple company, Apple Computer was created by Steve Jobs and his partner in 1976 as the personal computer manufacturer, it was once faced full of obstacles to sustain with…
