Title: How to Alleviate the Financial Headache of Moving Day

Moving can be a headache. Not only are there a million details, but your wallet can take a financial pounding as well. Here are some tips to help ease the financial stress of moving by creating a budget before you even pack a box!

1. Research your options
There are a lot of decisions to make when moving. Are you going to do all of the packing yourself? How much help will you need on the day of the move? Can you really call in that many favors? What about out of town or cross country moves? Each of these decisions comes with a price tag and an impact to your bottom line. Know your options and how they affect the cost, speed, and efficiency of the move.

If you are moving out of town, you may need help unloading at the new location. Some companies offer just off-loading services, while others will require that you use them start to finish. If you are not moving directly into your new space, you may need to factor things like storage facility fees and a secondary truck rental when the time comes to take possession.

2. Create a budget
Microsoft office offers templates of various kinds of budgets, including some that can be modified to make a moving budget. So if you have Excel, you will be able to customize a budget that meets your needs and track all of your expenses as you go. Make sure to factor in things like fuel, labor, rental costs, and supplies. If you are moving out of town or cross country, be sure to factor your travel costs, such as tolls, food, and hotels.

3. Have a contingency
