A Brief Synopsis of Buddhism As mentioned previously, Buddhism is a dynamic and complex system of spiritual development that transcends the idea of religion in its entirety and delves into the concepts of philosophy. Buddhism focuses on gathering deep insights on life through the exploration of the nature of it. Buddhists focus on this aspect rather than worshiping gods or deities. In the 6th century BC, Siddhartha Gautama achieved enlightenment, therefore becoming the first known Buddha, and creating Buddhism in Northern India. Siddhartha Gautama was born Prince Siddhartha in the Raja Caste and the story of his life helps to show how the concepts and ideology of Buddhism came about. Being a prince, Siddhartha lived a privileged life, but he eventually left that all behind to discover the meanings behind life, suffering, and death. I think that the beliefs that this subsection of Buddhism holds are very appealing and generally “nice” thoughts to have such as having figures to guide you on through the path of life. There is sort of this divine, cosmic sense of faith that this sect has in which there is almost a sort of cosmic destiny for each soul is very fascinating and interesting.
