However the medical practices were not always so practical for an example some doctors believed that fresh air could prevent the spread of the disease unfortunately it was not successful(Truitt 14). The doctors also thought that applying leeches to the skin of the victims to purge the body of illness. Doctors were not the only people involved with the illness the church had a part in the medical field to. Priests would have people come in church where relics of saints were kept in hope that it .would heal (Truitt 16).
After The Black Death the medical advances changed new technology and knowledge helped to discover new diseases and ways to treat them. At first the practice of dissecting bodies was considered a crime However students still practiced on bodies regardless of it being a crime (Inglls-Arkell). At the time no one really figured out what caused The Black Death it took some time after to figure out the disease (Inglls-Arkell). The Black Death decreased the population also by the not so sanitary conditions in the middle ages. Peasants who needed to work also buried the dead bodies and burned them which also spread the disease faster throughout the region. Social classes also played a huge part in the population decrease when the sick lower class people got sick it left the risk of the higher classes to get sick to. When the higher class people moved to other regions to escape the deadly disease they not only spread it over the new area that they traveled to but they also died of the plague leaving behind devastation and disaster in there
