To conclude, Bryan Stevenson used pathos to force his readers to feel a mixture of emotions, especially sympathy, anger, and hope because of the fact that he knows that those emotions have more impact on his readers. Stevenson made the readers feel sympathy for incarcerated women and their families. Stevenson had the readers be enraged on behalf of Charlie. Thirdly, Stevenson readers experience feeling hope by knowing that nothing is impossible if a person never gives us even when the situation is bad. Stevenson use of pathos was highly effective. Putting his readers on an emotion roller coaster by the way he told his stories and the people whose he chose to tell.
