Personal Narrative Essay: Bryan And I Were Best Friend

Bryan and I were best friends. We did everything together, whether it was finishing up our Calculus homework five minutes before class started or sitting on my couch eating popcorn and watching the scariest movies we could find. Neither of us had many other friends, so it had been just the two of us all through high school. He was the first person I would go to with all of my problems, even the ones that girls would generally only share with other girls. Sometimes we would stay up for hours at a time talking about life and what it would be like to leave home and travel across the country. We even made a bucket list for after we graduated high school, and added to it every time we saw something on television that we wanted to do. He carried …show more content…
I sent him a few texts throughout the day, but he never replied. I wanted to know what was going on with him and what I could do to help. After all, he was my best friend, and I would have done anything for him. When the bell rang for classes to end, I saw Bryan walking out of his history class. We made eye contact and he immediately turned in the opposite direction and began to walk away quickly. You’ve been ignoring me, and you were acting really strange yesterday,” I said to Bryan while trying to catch my breath.
“Nothing is wrong, just leave me alone,” he replied. He seemed unusually nervous, and his hands kept fidgeting in the pocket of his hoodie.
“No, you’re my best friend,” I argued. “I’m sorry I haven’t spent much time with you but that can’t be the only reason for this. Whatever is going on I want to help.” I reached for his arm, and as soon as I did he pulled out a gun and pointed it directly at me.
“I said leave me alone!” he shouted. Everyone in the hallway froze. I took a step back, unsure of what to do. “Bryan,” I said with voice trembling. “What are you doing? Why do you have a gun?”
