Brutus 's tone let out that he was overly confident (throughout movie clip). This over confident tone gets the romans fired up and believing every word Brutus lets out. Mark Antony set the tone of his speech by beginning with friends rather than romans (Scene 3 line 13 and line 74). The tone of Antony 's speech led the romans in, but also created a greater impact. Mark Antony treated the romans with respect and made the romans feel he was equal to them. The crowd that took up every inch of the capitol was easily swayed throughout both speeches. Although the crowd determined the quality of the speeches by their loudness, they proved to be easily led. After Brutus offered self sacrifice the crowd went wild wanting Brutus to now live (Scene 3 lines 47-54). Less than five minutes before Brutus 's spontaneous act the romans were against Brutus and his act of betrayal for the once loved Caesar. After Antony had to stop his speech because he was experiencing emotional instability the crowd changed from loving Brutus to understanding Antony 's side (Scene 3 line 118).
