It appears that Portia has control over this confrontation. Even though Brutus has the dominance that comes from being a man at the time, he seemingly lacks authority over Portia. She explicitly ignores his command to go to bed, and further persists in questioning him after she receives an answer. Portia calls Brutus out on all of his lies and contradictions and Brutus appears to take it without a fight. In the end, Portia even succeeds in convincing Brutus to tell her everything.
