In Brooklyn, brunch is practically an institution. Every weekend, patrons flock to Industry 1332 for their fix, be it a hearty omelet or mouth-watering blueberry pancakes. What is it, exactly, that makes brunch so special?

At Industry 1332, it all boils down to the delicious food and the atmosphere. Featuring exposed brick walls and concrete-topped tables, the restaurant bears an industrial appearance that finely balances its tempting brunch offerings. Yet there's almost a disparity in the pro-brunch crowds that populate America.

Commonplace in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and almost every other major city in the country, the meal traditionally enjoyed on Sundays is not quite the mainstay in smaller towns, or those in weakened economic climates. Despite this, brunch is easily one of the country's most

It's often a grand-scale social event, something that allows people who are too busy to see each other throughout the week to finally commingle. And because it's so much more popular now, individuals who once had to go in search of a fancy breakfast option can now enjoy it almost anywhere in town.

Brunch has transformed from a casual hybrid of breakfast and lunch into an actual lifestyle – a weekend trend in which loud conversations among raucous gatherings are only fueled by the consumption of various wines and spirits. Brunch time is nothing but a good time, and for many that alone is the absolute draw. At Industry 1332, brunch is just that: an unmissable experience fueled by classic fare with a Latin twist, along with delicious libations and top-quality customer service.

If you're in the brunch club, you'll love the lively atmosphere at Industry 1332, along with the beloved Latin American cuisine that has locals raving. If brunch isn't your thing, you can always pop in for Happy Hour, live music, and dinner with loved ones. For more information, visit the website or call (718)

Thoreau considers the Canadian woodchopper to be his best company and it seems as though this can be attributed to the simple and content lifestyle this man leads, even using phrases such as “‘No, I like it well enough’”, (Thoreau, 92) when responding to Thoreau. A response of this accessible form almost stupefies Thoreau, even resulting in his referring to the Canadian as a “metaphysical puzzle” (94). Yet at the same time, the woodchopper pushes Thoreau to reconsider the purpose of extravagant thought and language amidst the rather basic life he lives and preaches. The simplistic lifestyles enjoyed by the two men are, in many ways quite similar, yet at the same time; vastly different to that of Thoreau. It is almost as if the two complement each other well in the way in which Thoreau is highly intellectual and the woodchopper is more content with his physical work, which he truly loves in the same way Thoreau loves formulating deep thoughts and dwelling on them, both done in their lives of simplicity.…

Dive bars are broadly defined as a shabby and disreputable establishment—essentially the lowest of quality drinking establishments. Though there are numerous guides to Boston’s “best dive bars,” this complicates the definition of what exactly constitutes what makes a bar a “dive”. If a dive bar is always shabby and seedy, is it possible to be “the best” in being the worst? If so, would the award for the best dive bar actually go to the worst? Many of these common standards that define a dive bar are a series of contradictions.…

In all of my time of attending Homedale Middle School, I have witnessed many groups of students more increasingly each year. I supposed that each year I become more aware and observant of the life around me--specifically, others’ lives. Some cliques I see only outside, playing football or staying far out into the fields. But others I see every day, chatting in class, eating together at lunch, or even rough-housing in the hallways between periods, which causes chaos for everyone else and blocks our path to class. Even though this is the case, it is easier to identify certain types of groups at lunch.…

From enactment art to the atmospheric, sound art to visual installations, Nuit Blanche is an event that propagates in admiration in numerous cities each year. The exhibit takes place all night, individuals can amble from one side of the city to the other observing, experiencing and even partaking in art expositions which range from secret tunnel vibrational drones, a contraption of metal tubes/containers that generate various reverberations when hit – creating a symphony done by the public, a post office where anyone may send a postcard to a stranger in the future; sort of like a time capsule, and impromptu house parties. It was curiosity that got me to participate in Nuit Blanche this year because it was my first time actually participating and observing an art event that began at 7pm and lasted till 7am.…
