Describe what you learned- This week I learned how organization utilized the psychologist Bruce Tuckman’s model to build group development. Based on his theory the group most go through various stages before moving to the next stage, which would determine the group success or failure. The advancement of the group proceeding to the next stage allows the leadership to change their style to release more autonomy to the group. (Bauer & Erdogan, 2009) For example, at the forming stage leaders may be expose to more conflict due to individual are getting to know one another. However, this type of incidents would be resolved immediately to be able to move to the next stage. (Bauer & Erdogan, 2009)

In my opinion, out of the five, the investigation phase would be the most important, since its foundation and the blueprint of your outcome. (Bauer & Erdogan, 2009)For example, I would need to clarity, which is essential when faced with potential deal breakers. Whereas, by having uncertainty would weaken my skills for negotiation, which cause a problem at the BATNA stage. Being able to demonstrate facts that show your value is another tool that should be played out during a presentation. Never settled solely on no as the answer. However, this where you bargaining skills are displayed and you can focus your interest and ask questions that can possibly find a positive outcome for the fast no instead of a slow yes. For instance, if the reason why they can’t give you more money because postage stamps is costing the company, emails could be the solution to save the company money.
