Bruce Jenner's Argument Essay

Improved Essays
Bruce Jenner should not have won Woman of the Year award. Bruce was introduced as Caitlyn on the front cover of Vanity Fair. This caught a mix of emotions and opinions across the country. Some think he is brave for him coming out and others are upset. The award caused an up roar from people. Somethings they argue is that there are truly deserving real women that should have won, he only won because people don’t want to offend the transgender, because their income will go down, and this has offended people and others who should have won. “Caitlyn Jenner you do not understand what being a woman is about at all,” McGowan wrote. “You want to be a woman and stand with us – well learn us. We are more than deciding what to wear. We are more than the stereotypes foisted upon us by people like you.” One comment made by Bruce is, “hardest part about being a woman is figuring out what to wear.”
This just proves how arrogant he really is, and how blinded he is to what a true woman is. Comments made like this are what flares up our society. Everyone wants to be dominant to the other, people get offended over the smallest things

“At a time when we have women in the armed forces fighting and dying for our country, heroic doctors fighting deadly diseases, women police and firefighters putting their lives on the line for total strangers, brave women overcoming life threatening diseases . . . the list of possibilities goes on . . . is this the best you could do?” Glamor Magazine didn’t shed a tear or do anything to comfort Mr. Smith. His wife, Maria, was a New York City police officer. She died escorting people out of the south tower on 9/11. The tower collapsed and she didn’t make it out. She was honored later for her heroic action by being named 2001’s Woman of the Year. Her husband was so disturbed and saddened by Glamor Magazines choice of Bruce Jenner he sent her award

On August 9th, 2014, Michael Brown and his friend Dorian Johnson were walking in the middle of the street when they were approached by a police officer by the name of Darren Wilson. With there being altered stories explaining what happened next rather than choosing one side of the story we can agree that an altercation occurred and it led to the unfortunate death of eighteen year old Michael Brown. Because of the differing stories and videos online, I will not focus on whether I feel like the killing of Michael Brown was justified, but whether the process to indict/or not to indict Officer Darren Wilson was justified and not flawed. Beginning as soon as you read the table of contents of the DOJ report on the Ferguson Police Department…

In the United States of America, citizens have unalienable physical rights, a trait that sets us apart from many other countries around the world. While documents such as the Constitution and Bill of Rights stand true to this day, how these official papers apply to science is still up to debate, as some phrases could pose a threat to peoples’ privacy and to scientific research. Peoples’ legal ownership and control over their tissue, should be up to the person in which the tissues were extracted. A prime example of how weak tissue rights invaded someone’s right to privacy and should be made stronger, is Henrietta Lacks.…

Dave I am not normally one to post a comment to someone in response to something they've shared that I don't agree with but I am going to now,.. This response bears nothing on our friendship or a stab at your opinions. But let me start off by saying that this is an unfair and opinionated article. It's basically a woman degrading other women and putting them into a one fits all category because we didn't march or support it. I am one of those women who posted the shared status, I am one of the women she belittled in her blog post. "…

She looks stunning and incredibly fit in the photo, but many viewers are unhappy with the sight of “dangerously low-slung bikini bottoms” (Business Insider). Hannah is a model, therefore she is told how to pose, so it is not her fault for the provocative way in which she is sporting the bikini. While Sports Illustrated is trying to bite the bullet for her, and contracts are protecting her rights, it still must be tough receiving such an incredible opportunity and having it get torn to shreds by the public.…
