The fame of the Kardashian family did not originate from Kim Kardashian, nor the O.J. Simpson Murder case. Before the family receive the immense amount of fame they have today, the Kardashians were a small part of the Bruce Jenner popularity. Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn Jenner, is one of the greatest American athletes. He won a gold medal in the 1976 Olympic games for his success in the decathlon, which is 10 different track and field events and is said to be one of the most difficult olympics games. From his wins, he was featured in multiple commercials, and was featured on the front of the Wheaties box. Before Bruce had his Olympic victory, he lived quite a normal lifestyle. Born in Mt. Kisco, New York Bruce was always drawn to sports, playing almost every sport his high school had to offer. He went to Graceland University on a football scholarship. After playing football for two years in college, he suffered a knee injury and could no longer play. During his rehabilitation, the university's track and field coach recognized his track and field abilities, and began to train him (The Famous People 1).
