A few months after this defining trip, I began applying to over ten colleges and universities, even though I knew exactly which school I wanted to attend. When I visited Bucknell University as a sophomore in high school, I was mesmerized by every aspect and was convinced, after only a few hours on campus, that it was my “dream school”. I had known for years that I would apply early decision to the university and worked so hard, throughout my high school career, to be accepted. When I received my decision letter in the mail, I ripped it open and did not read past the words “Congratulations, Madalyn...” before a wave of excitement and relief consumed me. I hope to contribute my dedication leadership skills in classes and student organizations. I hope that am constantly challenged, both socially and intellectually. I hope that the school offers academic or internship programs abroad so that I can broaden my global perspective. Lastly, I hope that I have access to opportunities so that I can eventually become a leader within the business world. Now, I can only hope that the school will consider
