The environmental issue is how the Brown Tree Snakes are making native species extinct. This can affect the local, regional and global scale in multiple ways. This problem affects the local level because the snakes eat the species on the island weakening and eventually change the ecosystem and cause power outages for residents on Guam. This problem also affects them on a regional level because in the future the snakes might spread to other regional island and also weaken their ecosystems and damage human structures. This can also affect globally because Guam’s ecosystem contains many native species that are only available there and one those become extinct than.

With the mice solution working the island of Guam would experience less power outages and endangered native species on Guam such as the Mariana fruit dove or the Guam flycatcher would slowly creep out of the endangered zone with the lack of Brown Tree Snakes. On the other hand if this solution was not in place than the death of Guam's native species will continue dropping until the entire ecosystem is completely changed.
