Hip Hop has been described in some literature as an additional character in the movie. (Sanchez 41). “Hip Hop has always been that kind of friend to me.” Sidney’s relationship with Hip Hop and her relationship with Dre are again paralleling each other and they mature. In the scene at a party at Sidney’s house, Dre describes Sidney as “the perfect verse over a tight beat.” We see how strongly he cares for her by naming her as one of the most important parts of his life, much like the music he refers to.
