Brown anoles reach sexual reproductive maturity at 1 year of their typical 5-year lifespan in the wild. They usually have 0-2 offspring at one time and breed seasonally in the summer months, usually March or April and until August or September. The female lays one or two eggs at a time on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for the entire breeding season, reproducing at most, 9 times in one year. Brown anoles are generalist species, they can thrive in many environments, including urban and suburban areas of Florida as long as there are areas of open vegetation, forests, and even higher niches in trees.
