If you’ve ever wanted to have the whole world in your hands, you should try having it on your plate.
Thursday night in the Broward Basement, students will be able to travel the world in just 10 dishes. In an effort to help students living in residential halls come together and learn more about diversity on campus the Inter-Residence Hall Association and the Broward Area Counsel has created Around the World in 10 Plates.
Students interested in studying abroad will get the opportunity to learn more about studying aboard while eating the food of the nations all around them. “The main thing I’m interested in is food,” said Nathan Morales, first-year philosophy major, “It always attracts my attention.”

UF currently has over 63,000 freshman students currently enrolled with 63 percent of all freshman living on campus.

International/ADD 1 “People on campus are so diverse,” said Ashley Aguiar, marketing director for the Broward Area Counsel, “it’s a great opportunity for people to get to know each other.”
The 18-year-old political science major wants students to come out to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. The executive board of the Broward Area Counsel will be making the dishes by hand.
“This is an opportunity for people to not only become more educated about the study aboard program, but for them to be more aware of the diversity on campus.” Aguiar said.
The marketing director for the Tolbert Area Counsel, Kevin Rivera, wants to support his fellow student housing counsel and learn about study abroad opportunities.
“We’re a close community,” Rivera said, “We want to support each other.”
Rivera is interested in learning about study abroad opportunities while taking the advantages of all the free food available.
