Scarlet Ibis-Defense Brother is innocent. He did not kill Doodle. Doodle passed while he was running, after pushing himself very hard. Brother did encourage him to push hard. Although, Brother was only a boy. He could not have fully comprehended the severity of Doodle’s medical condition. Brother was young, I’m sure he was aware of Doodle’s constant fevers and trouble sleeping, but how could he know what that meant? Brother was expected to be responsible for Doodle, and take care of him very frequently. This is a lot to expect of a young boy. Brother spent nearly every day, helping Doodle improve.
