Secrets and lies is a major issue that has caused many families to break and causes chaos between family members. This is a theme which has been shown in the four films that i have studied which are ‘Secrets and Lies’ directed and written by Mike Leigh, ‘Brotherly Love’ directed and written by Jamal Hill, Abduction directed by John Singleton and written by Shawn Christensen and ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ directed by Nick Cassavetes and written by Jeremy Leven and Nick Cassavetes. Two of the films that is have studied which are ‘Brotherly Love’ and ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ both connect and relate to each other because they share the same theme of secrets and lies in a family which cause the family to go through major downfalls and emotions. ‘Brotherly Love’ is a film about how the eldest brother has to look out for his younger siblings and his mother and to do this he gets involved in gangs and lives the ‘hood’ life living dangerously trying to provide for his family ever since his father passed away. The eldest brother names June did everything he could for his family to be fed, sheltered and have things that they needed and wanted, he put his mum and siblings before himself and believed that he had to step up and be the man of the house and do what he could to make the dreams of his siblings come

The movie I decided to analyze for this assignment is Blood In Blood Out. This movie is about two Latino brothers, Cruz and Paco, and their cousin, Miclo, who is half white and half Latino, and how their lives are affected by the pact they have to always stick together and fight for each other. Later on in the movie the guys are separated after many conflicts they encountered between each other and with others. Cruz turns to drugs, Paco becomes a detective, and Miclo goes to prison. There are many different forms of communication and relationships between the characters, and there is also a great amount of conflict, which is why I chose this movie.…

The theme of my favorite chaperone written by Jean Davis Okimoto is to always have your family’s back no matter what. Family is important and you should always be there for them. The reason I think that is the theme is because in the book Maya has to help out her family by doing her mom’s work when her mom gets hurt. That is showing that even though she does not want to she has to help her family out and be there for them. When Nurzahn goes to the dance with Maya that is very thoughtful of him.…

Introduction These movies are in stark contrast to each other but have one thing in common both look at men who are in a foreign place trying to survive and perhaps flourish. Each man is literally a man without a country. These movies look at their struggle or journey to get what they really want. Along the way they both find that the ones they love are the important thing not necessarily the journey they taken to discover that. These movies show the constant battle of trying to do what they need to do to thrive and barriers being in front of them that they must overcome to reach their goals.…

The audience for my reimaging tale is people who understand business and politics. This story is indirectly for everyone but the major understanding comes from economic aspects and a dictatorial rule. The way I choose this audience is the same way I choose my theme because the theme of a story changes the "audience”. Also I wanted to make a story for an audience that perceives a short folktale as a larger and more detailed story since the original "The boy who cried wolf" was a moral lesson for children but how about I do reimagining this story but for adults who are sometimes as vulnerable as kids when it comes to money, power and wealth.…

The best movie that I have ever seen was Brotherly Love, because it was organized well and easy-to-follow, and presents the main idea well. After watching Brotherly Love the reaction that you would get is to not trust people to easily because you never know who they really are. I would say to not trust people to easily is the overall reaction because in the movie a teenage girl Jackie, who was ambitious for music was sidetracked by love, she trusted this boy Chris, to easy and she did not know that the boy who she likes was using her to kill her brother. The movie is organize well and it is also easy to follow because in the movie the girl older brother June, had a dream to be in the NBA but he became affiliated in a gang when his father died,…

The theme for my storyboard for the book Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman was about helping out in the community that you are in. I picked this theme because in Seedfolks all of the characters put in effort to help make the garden a better place. All of the characters had something against someone but they get involved in the garden because the either notice how the garden community were kind and helpful or they were forced to go by someone who thinks the garden will help their problems. The Character Sae Young is the main character in my storyboard. Sae Young worked in a laundromat, but one day at work a man came in with a gun under his coat and beat up Sae Young and she passed out because he kicked her really hard.…
