Since Confucianism is without priesthood or a special place of worship they are values created in order to follow the Confucian though, such as the filial piety (hsiao) was created in order to show honour for superiors such as parent, elders and ancestors (e). Women were seen in context with the family while men were seen in the social-political order. In Confucianism a woman gain respect within the family because nothing can be done without her, but she is still under the male authority of every stage of her life “as a daughter, she was a subject to her father; as a wife, to her husband; and as a widow, to her son” (e294).
