My family is a South Side Irish family, which consists of my Mother, Father, Brother, and Myself. My father John McQuillan grew up in a family of eight in Evergreen Park, were he and his two Brothers attended Brother Rice. Today my father works for Weldstar in University Park, which has developed into a successful business. My mother grew up in Chicago in a family of six and currently works for her family business of Shamrock Decorating, which has become a well known painting business. Then there is my brother Brendan who currently is in eighth grade and currently attends OLHMS. If there was one word that could describe my family it would be perseverance. Brother Rice is going to prepare me for what lies ahead in life, and I trust Brother Rice to prepare me for the future. Brother Rice is going to play a vital factor in my life by helping me achieve going to college. This stepping stone that Rice will guide me through will set the pathway for the rest of my life. Brother Rice’s importance to me is also within my social life, Rice has helped me meet many great friends. These friends will always have my back and will last a lifetime. Most of all the importance to me attending Brother Rice is the memories and life lessons that I will learn. Already at Brother Rice they have matured me into a young man, and have matured my mindset. The memories I have made so far in Rice are numerous, the people, activities, and life lessons, all are major contribution. In this short time that I have been at Brother Rice, the community at Brother Rice have made this memorable.
