Brookwood High School Bridge Research

My fellow students, my teachers, and the faculty of Brookwood High School; today is a day that we have waited four long years for. Today is the day that we grow up and end our crossing over the bridge into adulthood, which in the context of our lives, is high school. For some of us, the bridge was short and sweet; these people ran over it like a child would run across the bridge over a creek while playing tag with a friend. For some of us, the bridge was bland and boring; like a grey cobblestone bridge over a flowing river. For some of us, the bridge was long and seemingly endless; like a long red bridge connecting two cities over the currents of the ocean. But there is one thing that all of our bridges have in common. None of our bridges collapsed, and that’s common occurrence that brings us all here.Today is the day that we take one final, symbolic step, off of the bridge, and graduate from Brookwood High School as the Class of 2019.

Although you might not want to hear this now, but the crossing of this bridge only leads to another, even longer bridge, and my goal today is to give you advice that will assure you that crossing it will be one of the most enjoyable experiences in your life. The foundation of the bridge of life, that keeps stable, is other people. You cannot live your life on your own. No matter how much you may want to remain a solitary figure, you will look around. And I guarantee you, when you look around, you’re going to see other people; things are given to you by other people, things are made by other people; even things that were made with other people in mind. No matter what you do, there’s always going to be other people, and ignoring them, and placing your needs before theirs when it’s not necessary is going to remove the foundation of your bridge, and without a stable foundation, your bridge will most not remain
