Spooks Diary
Today I had the first battle of my spooks career against Mother Malkin. That’s right one of the strongest witches in the country. It all started when I’d come back from finishing my work.I’d turned the corner and it opened into a frightening scene. There was Snout holding Ellie and Jack’s baby and a brandishing a huge knife in his other hand. I was so nervous and shocked that my ears started burning like red hot coal embers.I had to do something.

That was when I made a huge mistake letting my mind become free and invulnerable. The shock that the scene had given me meant that Snout or whoever was possessing him could charm me. But now I feel no regret because I’m still an apprentice. After seeing Jack with blood on the floor and Ellie crying onto her brown mud soaked dress, anger boiled inside me.

I was under a charm as I struggled against it. Snout opened his mouth to talk but his voice wasn’t as deep and welcoming, instead it was the screeching of Mother Malkin. She called for me, her voice sending a chill down my spine. When I was five feet away, I realised Snout was waiting with his huge curved knife, the one that he killed pigs with. Getting closer, I closed my eyes when I heard a thud, like a blunt axe hitting wood and a huge grunt.A sparkling sensation filled my legs. It felt awesome and I can still imagine it.My legs were free, free to move, free to do

When I wake, I go from darkness to the sunshine erupting in my eyes. I feel the need to get up but my body is working slower than my mind this morning. As I manage to lift myself up from my bed, I quickly remember that today is the day Papa leaves for his yearly hunting trip. Leaping to my feet, I dash to make sure he hasn't left yet. I slowly come to a stop when I see him fast asleep on the floor with an empty bottle of liquor placed in his hand.…

Gertrude had been surprised by the three snorpians and she had surprised them as well. One of them fired his stunner at her and she dropped like a rock. She was unable to move, but she could hear the snorpians talking in whispers in their own strange language. One of them scooped her up in his arms and carried her a good hundred yards from the snorpian base. When books are translated into a film some hit the mark and some do not even come close. Young Adult Literature is usually a prime market for Hollywood, they spot out a popular series and then decide that they can profit from it. One of these series would be the Wardstone Chronicles, the very first book to be exact. In 2015, Universal Studios came out with the Seventh Son, a film adaptation of the book The Last Apprentice: The Witch’s Revenge. Writing Journal (Morning Pages) I chose morning pages as one of my three pieces for Seasaw because it was something that I had to do at least three times a week for several weeks and it made me appreciate how important writing is. I haven’t written in a journal in such a long time since everything I need to write down is through my computer, phone, or if I write something on the board in class. This is a great strategy to bring into the classroom because it allows students to write about anything they want, with no rules! This helped me teach writing in my 3rd grade class because I had students starting to write in the morning versus the afternoon (mainly because I had to do it) and they were able to write about anything that they wanted. Students seemed to like this idea because they didn’t have to write on a particular topic, like they were used to, but others had no clue what to write about so I had to write suggestions on the board that students could use as a guide.…

Journal Entry 1 – To be graded on Act 2 is a very long act, with 9 scenes. Hence in this journal entry, I will be focusing on Act 2, Scene 1. Act 2, Scene 1 – Upon his entrance, the Prince of Morocco’s initial words to Portia are “Mislike me not for my complexion, the shadowed livery of the burnished sun”. From how he is immediate to tell her not to hold his skin color against him, we can interpret that many people have judged him harshly because of his complexion and this can be compared to how Shylock is being judged harshly because of his identity as a Jew. We can also see that he is expecting her to hold prejudices against him based on his skin color.…

Zack and I became afraid, we both knew that my mom’s dog, Bigge, isn’t afraid of nothing, as Bigge would be a cold blooded killer, that would kill anyone that he doesn’t know. Zack was curious, but I was worried, what will happen, what if going downstairs was a mistake, or… what if we die?…
