We arrest bad guys and look good doing it
Yes, they do.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is an American sitcom which revolves around a team of detectives and their newly appointed captain in the fictional 99th precinct of the New York Police Department in Brooklyn. The general setup of the show is a new case each week with a story building up in the background.
Over the course of the seasons you will meet the squad: Jake Peralta, a brilliant but immature detective who has trouble adjusting to the new Captain’s rules, and his best friend, Charles Boyle, an expert in all things culinary; their colleagues Amy Santiago, a meticulous bookworm who would spend more time picking out the perfect binder than a wedding dress, and Rosa Diaz, who her co-workers allegedly

“My super weird family with two black dads, and two Latina daughters, and two white sons, and ... Gina. And I don't know what you are. Some strange giant baby? To the Nine-Nine!” is an actual quote from the show. Additionally, of the nine main characters, there’s a Jewish protagonist, two queer characters (one of which is in a leading position), a single mother and mentions of ADHD and experiencing PTSD, and some more that I’m not thinking of right now.
And all of those are done so well. For example, and because this is very important to me to emphasize, I’d just like to give you a little spoiler: In Season 5, one character comes out as bisexual, and in that very same and the following episode, the words “bi” and “bisexual” are said out loud eleven times. (Yes, I counted. It’s a rare and precious gift that needs to be appreciated.) And because this is a sitcom and the writers and cast are precious people, we don’t have to be afraid for the queer characters. They’re not going to die or lose their significant others by some tragedy and we don’t have to be afraid of any suicides or severe accidents or of an apocalexa happening – they’re safe. They’re out and they’re proud and they’re

There’s Captain Holt and his husband Kevin who are a long-term happily married couple who do nothing if not loving and supporting each other. There’s Amy and Captain Holt who develop a mentorship relationship they are both dedicated to. There’s Amy and Rosa always having each other’s back, and then there’s Terry and Gina, and Gina and Rosa, and Jake and Boyle, and … You get my point, right? Spoiler: Eventually, there’s Jake and Amy who are the happiest, healthiest couple on TV I can think of and they’re nothing but unconditionally supportive of each other in every aspect of their

In the piece, “Back to School Satire,” the author gets his point across in an entertaining way, but is also contemplative about it. There are many times through this piece that I apprehend what points the author is trying to express to us as an audience, however, he goes too far with some of his comparisons. To start off with, in the second paragraph the author tries to humour us by saying, “Throwing one’s racquet at an opponent after a pingpong match build good character and strengthens the opponent,” then also says, “what’s more, if the opponent has glasses, it would be beneficial for the glasses to break.” Even though this quote does show how it is at a public school it seems to be very immature for the author to say and seems like he…

The two fundamental methods of parody are amiable prodding and savage assault.' Discuss The Rape of the Lock and A Modest Proposal in the light of this announcement. The Rape of the Lock and A Modest Proposal were both distributed interestingly right on time in the eighteenth century (1712 and 1729 individually). Moreover, Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift were dear companions. Given these actualities, one could undoubtedly expect that there would be various likenesses in style and contentions.…

    Joyce Carol Oates Satire

Joyce Carol Oates was born in a small town in New York in 1938. Not much is mentioned about Oates’ childhood, other than her passion for writing that started early. She wrote many stories and even constructed short books in her elementary years. Oates tried to publish her first novel when she was fifteen, but was turned down because it was thought to be “too depressing” for children her age. Although there were many bumps along the road to becoming a great author, she is now rendered one of the most creative minds of her time.…

In the first episode of season one, the characters seem to mesh together effectively and they all give memorable first impressions. It’s significant for me to mention that the characters complemented one another in the first episode because I highly doubt that any of the actors/actresses knew each other before filming. After watching the first episode, it felt like all of the actors/actresses were childhood best friends. As the show continues and more episodes are created, an even closer bond between the characters seems to form.…
